I'm doing a report on breast cancer and i have to describe what it does to the breast so does it make it unable to produce milk? what does it actually do to the breast?

The surgery to remove the cancer affects the ability of that breast to produce milk. 80% of women with breast cancer are over 50 so lactation really isn't an issue for most. One woman in my breast cancer support group (diagnosed very young) was able to have a child who she breast fed from her remaining breast without a problem
