How can I tell If I have breast cancer

How can I tell If I have breast cancer?
My mom had breast cancer a few years and survived. I'm 15 and I've heard that you can get it even at a young age. I've been told that if my boobs are really tender and sore then it could be that, however I know that at this age my boobs are still growing. Is that the reason for the soreness or do you think I could have breast cancer and should get it checked out? Thanks you for your help <3

The chances of breast cancer at 15 are as close to zero as makes almost no difference. The chances of it occurring in both breasts are much smaller. It's almost unheard of in under 25s (let alone teens) and in fact fewer than0.1% of those diagnosed with it are under 30 and only 5% under 40. Most (80%) are over 50. Pain and tenderness are very rarely symptoms of breast cancer - most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain. And the fact that the soreness is in both breasts makes it even less likely that this is anything to worry about. Only 5 - 10% of breast cancer cases are hereditary, and breast cancer diagnosed after the age of 50 is even less likely to be hereditary. One case of breast cancer in your family doesn't increase your risk, although as the daughter of someone who's had breast cancer you will, in the future, probably be offered earlier routine mammograms as a precaution. Even in those rare cases when breast cancer is hereditary, the chances of it happening to a teenager are still very, very close to zero. Someone has been giving you misinformation about breast cancer. Talk to your mother about it.
2 :
The best way to relieve yourself of the worry is to talk with your Mom and Doctor. As was reported in the news just last week breast cancer is possible as early as the age of 10 but.... very highly unlikely. Soreness and tenderness at any age is not an indicator of breast cancer and is very common

Is it possible that I could have breast cancer

Is it possible that I could have breast cancer?
I'm 14 and breast cancer runs in my family. There's like this lymph node thing on the bottom part of my right breast and it feels like it's bruised and there's another one in it near my armpit. I told my mom and she said she'll do something about it. I'm just wondering cuz if it is cancer then i don't want it to get worse.

Go to the docters to get it checked out to find out wat it is,.
2 :
This usually works for me: ask a magic eight ball. Guaranteed to give you an answer, unless it says ask again. I stopped going to doctors years ago once I got my eight ball.
3 :
14 is wayyy too young ... dont worry about it but if you do i suggest checking a docter. There have been some cases of cancer in 14 year olds but its extreamly rare.
4 :
Possible.. but at your age, not likely.
5 :
GO TO THE DOCTORS ASAP! thats what i did when i was worried too and they cleared things up for me and told me i was ok actually it was just hormones bcoz i was so young but PLEASE go n see ur doc just coz ur young dnt mean u cant get it spesh if u have family histroy good luck x
6 :
Its possible. But try not to stress to much right now. Stay on your mom to make sure she gets you a dr appointment asap. Thats your best bet. God bless :)
7 :
its usually a sign of cancer, but sometimes its not... if i had breasts with those bumps i would go see the doctor NOW
8 :
a lymph node under the armpit is a sign of breast cancer and since it runs in your family it's possible but opposing that, you're really young and breast cancer comes in when you're older. the best thing for you to do and the most accurate way to find out is to see your doctor immediately.
9 :
you would be pretty young to have breast cancer. at this age it is more likely fibro-cystic breast disease. my sister has this, and it is bothersome, but not cancerous (she is 48 now and had her first cyst at about 15). it will mean that you will have to be checked more thouroughly throughout your life to be sure none of the cysts are actually malignant. here's the thing: these cysts feel different than a lump that is cancerous. once you go to your doctor, she/he will probably do a breast ultrasound to rule out cancer. it s even possible that they will do a needle biopsy. but again, you are not likely to have breast cancer at your age.
10 :
Well if it's hereditary, then its possible. But the only way you can find out and get treament right away is to get a doctor to examine you.
11 :
hmm thats not good, it may be cancer but a SUPER LOW CHANCE, cancer in teenager is SO low, like nealry impossibl,e i you think its serious go to the doc, but its rare to get cancer at 14
12 :
Aww I hate to think you are worrying babes. Get your mum to make an appointment at the doctors just to put your mind as rest. Im sure that everything is just fine but you wont be able to relax about it until it is confirmed by the doctor. I think you are just to young to have such a problem, try not to worry too much and I hope everything will turn out well for you, im absolutely sure it will.
13 :
That doesn't sound good, but I have the perfect solution. There is a supplement called Vibe. The manufacturer is Eniva. The nutrients in Vibe are equivalent to the nutrients in: -11 tomatoes -10 cups of green beans -30 heads of broccoli -19 wheat slices -96 blueberries -Certified organic Aloe Vera gel -5 cups of green tea -12 orange slices -71 cantaloupes -25 asparagus So, in other words, this Vibe product has Vitamin A, Folate, Selenium, Zinc, Antioxidants, EGCG Content, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Calcium. :-) Let me know if you are interested. If you want to talk about it, contact me at rgonet@comcast.net.
14 :
The best solution for you is to go to your doctor. 80% of lumps or nodes found in the breast are not cancer. Prayers are with you.
15 :
Ok well i must have breast cancer to cos i can feel my lymph nodes in my armpits and i ahve lumps on the bottom of my breasts. One on each side, easily moved. Have you thought maybe its a milk duct? there all over in your breasts. Dont jump to conclusions. Even th it run sin your family i doubt thats the problem at 14. All my lymph nodes are swollen but my dcotrs arent worried due to know bloods showing anything wrong besides i had glandular fever 4 months ago and a tooth infection 2 months ago. Ive had ct scans and ultrasounds and nothing is wrong. Dont stress, see a dcotor, have them feel the lump and see what they think. My mum, sisters have fibrocystic breasts, its non cancerous and doesnt mean they will turn into cancer eaith. You may have this

well i have a couple of ideas. Bake sales always make great money....i think you should go to the local bakeries in your town and ask them to donate baked goods and sell them around your school or work. Also you could maybe make t-shirts and sell them. Maybe come up with a pretty design that explains your cause and sell them to people. You might also want to talk to the people making your shirts and tell them your cause and maybe get a discount so you can get and even bigger profit. Um...another idea i have is maybe get a store like walmart to donate something good enough to raffle off and I'm sure you could make some good money off of that. Well good luck and i hope you get enough money to go!

What age Is too young for breast cancer

What age Is too young for breast cancer?
Recently my left breast has been verrry tender, and the top I feel a lump, a good size one too. I just turned 20 in august, everyone says it's too young but not impossible for me to have breast cancer, it runs in my family. I have to wait until January to get back on my parents insurance.. I'm really scared :/

At 20, your risk of breast cancer is still very slight. Breast cancer is rarely tender. This is far more likely to be a cyst. I would be getting it checked now (free clinic?) to set your mind at rest.
3 :
it wouldn't be tender, it would be a hard, painless lump. as someone already said, you could go to a free clinic or something, to put your mind at rest.
4 :
Don't be scared. It's very rare for a woman your age to develop breast cancer. It usually manifest itself during or after menopause. At 20 your breast will be naturally lumpy due to hormones preparing you for motherhood. In fact doctors discourage self exams. A lot of women do self exames at your age but it's only lumpy because your hormones are going wild. The norm for self exams is around late 30's and on. Even then , they are mostly benign I hope I put your mind at ease. Be blessed
5 :
You definetly don't have breast cancer. Breast Cancer doesn't hurt, and is always below the surface of the breast, located primarily in the ducts. When I had breast Cancer at the age of 43, I didn't feel any pain, No lump, No nothing, and neither did my doctor. If it wasn't for my yearly mammogram, I would be still walking around with it..Pain Free

Help- I need to do a picture/poem about volleyball and breast cancer

Help- I need to do a picture/poem about volleyball and breast cancer?
Okay, they sound like a weird pair to match, but this year for my club's annual literary arts contest, we are assigned to incorporate breast cancer prevention/treatmentetc into our pieces. I really want to do a picture where it seems like something volleyball related, maybe two girls jousting or slapping hands, or hitting or something, but their arms or bodies create a ribbon, like the breast cancer ribbon. Thanks!

Doing the ribbon in the art is just a symbol about a symbol. Unfortunately volleyball has nothing to do with prevention or treatment. It is a proven fact that in parts of the world where bras are not worn there is lower incidence of breast cancer. It is thought that restricting fluid movement may be a factor. This is why lymph nodes are often involved, the lymphatic system moves fluids around. Which brings us to bathing suits, being slim and trim (smaller breasts) and self-examination, but since this is a family show I have no idea what to do with it. If you could introduce a lesbian element maybe the liberals who thought up this strange politically correct assignment might be pleased. I don't mean to offend, I'm just not artistic
