At your age, your risk is zero. As a female, you have a lifetime risk of 1 in 8. Fewer than 10% of breast cancers are due to inherited factors and having a grandmother with breast cancer is not considered to increase your risk.

breast cancer is caused by a combo of factors. A large one is an excess of estrogen for a prolonged period so being on the pill for a long time and not having a baby or not breast feeding long enough increases the risk greatly. The milk hormone, prolactin counter acts estrogen and prevents the tissue from thickenning and making a place for cancer to grow. Regular nipple stimulation can prevent cancer by increasing the amount of prolactin in your system. The best cure is long term breastfeeding.

Most cancers are not passed down from parent to child. However there are some cancers that do have a genetic component. Check out this online fact sheet about hereditary cancer here: http://www.nowwhat.org.au/info/factsheets/hereditary-cancer It's got some helpful information
