Breast cancer is from a lot of different risks. Nipple piercings being VERY low on the charts, that is, if you take care of it. It would maybe infect the nipple if not taken care of. Breast CANCER is from a cell going bad and infecting the other cells. So, it is highly unlikely that it will cause cancer.

Pros: none Cons: infection risk, how the hail do you wear a bra?, trashy Probably no relation to developing cancer unless a carcinogenic metal is used

NO. There has been zero correlation found between piercings and cancer. Her only real risk is infection (which MAY, though rarely) cause potential complications if she plans to breastfeed. As long as you keep an eye on them healing, you should both be fine. As for "pros"... well, that's a personal thing. Does it look good to you? Does it feel good for her? Otherwise, no real pros.

I've never heard of nipple piercings being associated with breast cancer. You can search on nipple piercing issues and see what problems people with them typically have...but I don't think cancer should be a concern (from them).

No, it is not.

While there is no definitive study linking piercings to cancer, consider this: Cancer is a disease of opportunity. Everyone has cells that are pre-cancerous in nature, but the body's immune system usually takes care of them. When the immune system gets weak, or depressed, it may not be able to take care of these 'pre-cancer' cells as easily and they can turn into cancer. When you get a piercing, you temporarily depress the immune system in that area, as it is not a 'natural' occurrence. You have literally put a hole through the body's main line of defense, the skin. That's one reason why it's so easy to get an infection after a piercing. An infection, even after it is gone, can still leave behind a depressed area of the body where the immune system isn't as strong. Considering this and other factors, nipple piercings can increase the chance of breast cancer slightly. One other thing to consider is the material the nipple rings are made of. If they are from China, there is a good chance there is lead in them, and lead depresses the immune system. Zeba http://www.JigsawADay.com

no dont worry about it as long as you take care of it chances of that happening are EXTREMELY low

No scientific documented evidence exists that piercing your breast nipples causes or even places a person 'at risk to develop breast cancer'.

why would that happen.... having a tight fitting bra would make more sense as it cuts circulation of the lymphs....but keep ur immune system strong, avoid processed food

Absolutely not. Nipple piercings have no connection to breast cancer risk at all. As long as she is cleaning it properly, she will not develop an infection. Infected piercings are very rare. When most people say their piercing is "infected," it's not. It's just irritated. However, sometimes your body can reject a piercing, meaning it will gradually push it out of the skin. This can happen to any piercing. If her piercing begins to reject, she should take it out immediately to prevent scarring. Once a piercing has started rejecting, it won't stop
