Some women find out they have the cancer gene , have prophylactic mastectomy's.Should this information be available ? How can it be used against you? Some insurance companies don't pay for routine mammograms.Should they ? The wealthy get better treatment at world class hospitals while others just use a local hospital. Should quality of life be considered when choosing a treatment plan ? Or is it just quantity we seek ?

If you have the cancer gene, should you have children? Will insurance companies start requiring genetic testing before they cover costs? (as in cover or not cover if it was possible genetic) And how would discovering you have the gene effect pre-existing condition clauses on insurance.

If you could get a DNA test that would show you are likely to get cancer, then it becomes an issue about insurance. If insurance companies know you are already going to cost them they may not cover you. How does a society deal with this? Perhaps because of this happening and not being able to be covered, then you probably wouldn't want a DNA test. What an problem!
