Cancer would be a lump, unlike regualar tiny bumps
2 :
Hello. I've had them all my life, and my doctor said it does not increase my chances of getting cancer, but it does make it harder to see a lump on my mammogram, because my breasts are so dense. Cancerous lumps are usually more hard, and don't move easily. Softer ones that you can move, are less likely to be cancer. That being said, any lump should be looked at by a doctor. It's better to be safe, then sorry. Take care :-)

I don't know if this will help fibrocyctic problems but it has been shown to decrease cancer risk. Check out the article on breast cancer prevention

Want to walk for a cure for breast cancer need a slogan for my shirt

Want to walk for a cure for breast cancer need a slogan for my shirt?
I'm fortunate enough not to know anyone who suffered from breast cancer but I want to walk for the cause. Can you give me a good slogan to put on my shirt?

There's a website called "Feel Your Boobies," or maybe Feel My Boobies, that sells t-shirts promoting breast self-examination and breast cancer awareness. Maybe you should just buy one of theirs!
2 :
"Help Prevent Breast Cancer" on the back and on the front stencil in, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".
3 :
What about a line from that song by that Fergalicious woman... Something like "My Lovely Lady Lumps" on the front and "Check It Out" on the back. Or "My lovely lady lumps... Check it out" on either front or back

How big is the chance for an 18 yo MALE to develop breast cancer

How big is the chance for an 18 yo MALE to develop breast cancer?
Last night, I was massaging my chest then I found out, there's some sort of a bump near my breast. It's not really "bumpy" - it's flat. You can only feel it if you press it. If you press it, you can feel that there's some sort of a "pimple" inside.. It only hurts if you press it. Is this cancer??? I'm 18 yo male, no family history of cancer

it not if u that any pill.. it maybe ur dr give something wrong i have the same thing of my right one but dont worry u will not did from it
4 :
My wife has breast cancer. I have read many books on the subject. Here is my opinion. First it is very rare for males to have breast cancer, but not unheard of. Breast cancer in females is known to happen later in life. So a girl 18 years old would probably not have it. A boy having it would be even more rare. So, I believe you are cancer free in your breast. If you are truly concerned get it checked out

If you wear a bra when you sleep will you get breast cancer or something

If you wear a bra when you sleep will you get breast cancer or something?
I know this question sounds really childish, but is it true? I've heard many things. x_x -If you wear a bra while you sleep your breasts won't sag as much. -If you wear a bra while you sleep your breasts WILL sag more. -You can get breast cancer if you wear a bra when you sleep because it deforms your breasts or something like that. Any thruthful answers out there? Please. :)

1 :
no that is bs! The only true one is that your breasts wont sag as much cause they are getting more support. However if you are wearing a super tight bra better to let the twins breathe a little.
2 :
having children sag your breasts. cancer is caused by carcinogens in the air and food, breast size and shape is dependent mostly on heredity. exercises of chest and arm muscles can help give them a good shape.
3 :
nothing bad will happen because of sleeping in a bra. there was this one episode of the tyra banks show in which they talked about how if you wear a bra the breasts won't sag as much. but that's not exactly bad. :]
4 :
No ofcourse not
5 :
Take things you hear with a grain of salt. The only question you have that could be possible is that wear a bra while you sleep your boobs wont sag. This is what I have heard when I was younger and I always and still do. And I have very perky beautiful C boobs. And I have noticed most large chested women's boobs sag at least a little. But mine almost look fake, because they are so perfect and perkey.
6 :
I doubt that sleeping with a bra on will do anything to your breasts. There are two activities that are most likely to cause breast sagginess: age and nursing. Some people claim that wearing bras can promote or increase your chances of breast cancer by restricting the flow of your lymphatic system. A simple "bra breast cancer" search on Google (without the quotes) brought up several articles by doctors supporting this claim. For example: http://health2us.com/bra.htm I notice that this promotes my idea that women should periodically have their breasts massaged. It feels good to you (when done right) and your man will love it. The doctor has this hopeful observation: "There is a remarkable success rate for recovery from fibrocystic breast disease within 10 days to two weeks of going bra-free." His recommendation is to not wear a bra more than 12 hours a day, and periodically have your breasts massaged, including the lymph nodes right below your underarms and next to your breasts.
7 :
no all those are no way true
8 :
no,,it can just b uncomfortable though
9 :
Some of these statements are BS, like the first one, but others may have some truth in them. Let me explain: first off, bra's do not prevent breasts from sagging, rather the contrary. So it is a myth that bra's prevent sagging of the breasts. It is rather age, gravity, genes and the amount of children that you have that will determine how saggy breasts become. About breast cancer and bras: it is not proven that wearing a bra 24 hrs will cause breast cancer, however studies have proven that there is a link: One study, done by Singer and Grismaijer, suggested that women who wear bras 24 hours a day may have more than a 100-fold greater incidence of breast cancer, compared to those who don't wear bras. They wrote a book called Dressed to Kill to explain their theories to the lay public. Some researchers feel that the connection is that bras cause breast congestion and slow down lymphatic drainage of the breasts. Toxins that we eat, drink, inhale and absorb through our skin tend to collect in our fat cells. Our breasts are made of breast tissue and fat. So any constricting garment that slows down lymphatic drainage increases the amount of time that these toxins can damage our breast cells. Here some more explanation of how bras are more likely to cause sagging of the breasts than preventing it: What causes sagging of breasts? Sagging or drooping of breasts is a natural, inevitable process that happens to all women at some point - except those with fairly small breasts. The most notable sagging happens with the process called breast involution (see below), but breasts can start drooping a little at any age, because they do NOT have muscles in them. They have ligaments and connective tissue. When the gravity pulls the breasts down, those ligaments and the skin can stretch, and so the breast then droops. This depends on the elasticity of your skin and of your ligaments, as determined by your genes and diet, and also on normal aging processes. Obviously large breasts will sag easier since the gravity is pulling them down more. Breast involution is a process where the milk-making system inside the breast shrinks because it's not needed anymore. This happens either after weaning, or right after pregnancy if you don't breastfeed at all, or during menopause. When the tissues inside breast shrink, and the skin surrounding it doesn't, the breast can look 'empty' and saggy. Over time, some fat gets deposited back to the breast so it will look somewhat fuller but sagging usually remains. Will bras keep the breasts from sagging? Bras will keep your breasts from sagging while you're wearing them - but not for the remainder of time. There is no published medical literature showing that bras prevent sagging. Even the bra industry seems to know this, as the following quote illustrates: "We have no evidence that wearing a bra could prevent sagging, because the breast itself is not muscle, so keeping it toned up is an impossibility. What it can do, particularly for larger-breasted women, is obviously to provide the comfort and the support. So, if a woman wants a particular breast profile, she will buy a particular brand, and that is what they're designed for. There's no permanent effect on the breast from wearing a particular bra. The bra will give you the shape the bra's been designed to give while you're wearing it. Of course, when you take it off, you go 'au natural.' " executive John Dixey at Bras, Bare Facts documentary However, there is some support for the idea that breasts in bras actually sag more (when bra is taken off). How could that be since the main idea of bras is to lift the breasts upward? The main idea is that the ligaments which support breasts in normal circumstances, would atrophy (get thinner and weaker) when breasts are immobilized within bras and don't have to bear their own weight. There are lots of studies showing that ligaments and tendons in limbs do atrophy when the limb is immobilized. Bras obviously prevent the the natural slight up-down movement of breasts when we walk, and let shoulders bear the weight of breasts. If breast ligaments behave like limb ligaments, it may be a matter of "use it or lose it". The only study ever published on the subject of bras and sagging was done in 1991, in Japan. The study suggests that a bra can actually increase breast sagging rather than the opposite. The abstract says (emphasis mine): "Eleven adult female subjects aged 22-39 years wore a certain brassiere for 3 months while anthropometry and moire fringe photographs on the anterior trunk were taken regularly once a week. After the 3 months, the brassiere was not worn for another 3 months. Then the measurements and photogrammetry were repeated for comparison using superimposed moire configurations. The results are summarized as follows. Regardless of slim or obese trunk, subjects with pendent breasts showed the highest degree of breast form "correction" from wearing the brassiere. In all subjects, after 3 months of brassiere constraint, the underbust circumference was smaller but the chest circumference became enlarged, the distance between the right and left nipples became wider, and the breasts tended to hang down. This change was more marked in obese subjects with pendent breasts. And when this type of subject wore a "well-fitted" brassiere for a long time, her breast form became developed, that is, her breasts hung down more." Ashizawa K, Sugane A, Gunji T Institute of Human Living Sciences, Otsuma Women's University, Tokyo, Japan: Breast Form Changes Resulting From A Certain Brassiere Journal of Hum. Ergol.(Tokyo) 1990 Jun; 19(1):53-62. French study the necessity of wearing bras even further Another study with similar results was conducted in 2003 by Laetitia Pierrot and Jean-Denis Rouillon. In it, 250 women who practiced sports stopped wearing a bra for one year. They were followed regularly with questionnaires and biometric measurements. At the 6-week checkup, the ladies experienced some discomfort from abandoning the bra, but this disappeared later, and by the end of the year 88% of the women reported improved comfort compared to before the study. The measurements showed firmer, more elevated and perkier breasts. For example, the distance from the nipple to the shoulder bone was reduced, which means the breasts sagged less. They noted a better muscular development in the rotator muscles of the shoulders and the pectoralis major. Also, stretch marks on breasts became less visible. [The development of the breasts after discontinuing wearing bras. Preliminary longitudinal study of 33 volunteer sportswomen. Thesis presented December 19th, 2003, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Besancon, France.] Here is an article discussing that study (in French): Le soutien-gorge en question. See here for an English translation. There is also a more recent study by Jean-Denis Rouillon: Santé Le port du soutien-gorge déconseillé par un médecin bisontin (Besançon doctor advises against wearing bras ). Conclusion The rules of the society may force you to wear a bra to work or to social occasions, but there's no need to wear one for the purpose of preventing the eventual sagging. Remember also that breasts will benefit from bra-free time, so it is good to take the bra off whenever you can.

Is it possible to get medical insurance once you've been diagnosed with breast cancer

Is it possible to get medical insurance once you've been diagnosed with breast cancer?
I was let go from my job about a year ago and haven't had medical insurance since then. I've was diagnosed with breast cancer last week and have to undergo a masectomy to remove the tumor. Are their insurance companies that will offer coverage to people with preexisting condtions?

1 :
Please accept my sincere wishes for a complete healing. Individual health policies routinely exclude pre-existing conditions. Moreover, given that you've been diagnosed with cancer, it is highly improbable that you will ever be covered under an individual health plan.
2 :
Best wishes to get well. You probably can't get a plan. The idea of insurance is that you continuously pay money to a pool so that the sick can draw out the money when they need to. One does not get insurance when she is sick. One gets insurance when she is well, and pays into the pool to help others. The preexisting condition clause prevents people from cheating the system, not having contributed to the health of others from all of a suddenly demanding a $100,000 cut from the pool. A member of the pool needs to have continuously contributed to the pool.
3 :
No. You'll have to go to your state for coverage. Look up '(your state) high risk pool.' It'll be expensive, but hopefully it'll cover you.
4 :
Through an employer, yes. Or, through your state high risk health pool, but there's usually a wait of 18 months for preexisting conditions. You're going to be out of pocket for the next 18 months, and unless you're in a "guaranteed issue" state, you're not going to find an insurance company willing to give you a policy, for at LEAST the next ten years. Sorry about this. Maybe you can qualify for welfare health insurance - medicaid - or you can get married and added to your spouse's policy.
5 :
~~It depends on your state. In California you have an option of guaranteed coverage, it's just the premiums are so high it is out of the question for most people. If finances are hard right now call your county or state health department. There may be options available through their programs. Best of luck and I hope your recovery goes well.~~

healthplans.my-age.net - try this one. I have their health insurancs and as I know they can provide coverage with preexisting condition

Is it possible to get breast cancer at 14

Is it possible to get breast cancer at 14?
Ok, yesterday I hit my left breast accidentally and it immediately started hurting, I thought it would get better through the night but it didn't. It hurts even when I don't touch it.... can it be breast cancer? I'm only 14 years old. I can feel a small lump around my nipple if i feel.
Women's Health - 9 Answers

1 :
Highly, HIGHLY unlikely. If you're 14, your breasts are probably still extra sensitive since they are probably still growing. When breasts grow, there will be little lumps that go away after a few days or weeks that are perfectly normal in the breast tissue. If this lump doesn't go away in a month or so, get checked out by a doctor, but you're probably worrying about nothing.
2 :
Not sure, but don't risk anything. Get a doctor's opinion now.
3 :
Not likely but not impossible. You just hurt yourself.
4 :
Cancer is rare in teens. Certain diseases like breast cancer usually affect adult women - teen girls are unlikely to get this form of cancer. Talk to your mom about injuring your breast so that she can decide if you need to go to the doctor.
5 :
i dont think so. sometimes if you have a infection or something in your mouth your breast swollen and a lump can appear. im pretty sure you dont have breast cancer. i've worried about that too but the lump disappeared. wait a few days. im sure it will go away.
6 :
just wait a few days and if it doesnt settle go to ur doctor :)
7 :
i had that problem once at camp sometimes your breast are more sensitive than others therefore a slight thump can hurt more a certain times than others (like around you period) and there is generally a feeling of a knot under you nipple because there is tissue and fat there (all boobs really are are fat deposits. Also the tissues in your breast can become tangled so a small knot may come up i say it's probably not cancer although that can occur at any age i would say give it a week or two see if it goes away and check to see if the size gets any bigger. If it doesn't go away or if it gets bigger then get it checked out
8 :
It is possible, i've had a younf 12 year old that had to go in for surgery on her breasts for cancer; but it's rare. You're also not going to get breast cancer from hitting or bumping your breast, it's a myth
9 :
I know some people who do karate and they say it kills when they get hit there. Check for colouring cause the lump might be the result of a bruise. I have a friend who was kinda flat and she thought she had breast cancer. She went to the doctors to check it out (after asking for a female doctor) and it turned out to be normal breast development. She didn't have any pain like you but she still got it checked. Its a relatively simple procedure and its better to be safe than sorry. It is possible to get cancer at that age and I am quite concerned because both my mother and uncle have had cancer. If u still have doubts about getting help and your not too conservative maybe ask ur mum about it

How about a pink cell phone sock? I have several of these and use them for my phone, iPod, headphones, make-up brushes, etc... You might even be able to get a company to donate them.
2 :
The best thing I can think of for you is to go around frequently to your family members, co-workers, friends, neighbors and so on and collect as many used cell phones and ipods as possible and then visit: http://www.cellitused.com and sell the phones to this company. I think they even buy broken phones and ipods as well. If you send them phones every couple weeks then you can probably make $300 + a month, depending on how many you send them. It also looks good because you are trying to help the environment as well (good selling point when you are asking people for thier old phones). Most people just throw their used cell phones in a closet, drawer, or trash anyways. I hope this helps.

Hello, Book sales may be a fund raising event of interest to you. The money can be used for club purposes and or donated to a literacy organization. All across the nation, many organizations hold book sales that feature cheap books that were either donated or removed from circulation of a library. Typically these sales sell books, CDs, magazines, and DvD's for rock bottom prices. This type of fundraiser helps generate much needed funds while promoting literacy in the community. One resource I have found online that gives a good overview on how to run one. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article… Being charity organizations, these nonprofit organizations often have limited resources to advertise and promote their sales. As such, many people are never made aware of the excellent deals they are missing within their own communities. That's where http://www.booksalemanager.com comes ins. We are attempting to bridge the gap between Organizations looking to more effectively advertise their sale, and people looking to find more places to get good deals on books and media. Organizations and other non-profit groups can freely advertise their sale on our site. People looking to find sales can use our powerful search tools to find these sales. They can search by state, zip code, sale size, and date ranged. Furthermore, people can create an account and save sales to their calendar to help them better track the sales they want to go to. Accounts also allow users to be notified if a new sale is listed in their area and send notifications to remind them of an upcoming sale. All these features help increase sales for the organization and promote a successful sale. I believe book sales are a great way to find bargain books and media while at the same time supporting the local organizations we all know and love. It's a total win-win. Thank you for your time and if you have any other questions, please let me know. Jessica Booksalemanager.com
