The likely hood that you will get it before 30 is rare. Usually breast cancer hits women around 40+ years of age. Lots of questions here about the chance of girls getting it in their teens and that rarely happens. So, enjoy life now and consider getting checkups at about late thirties.

You are most likely to get breast cancer when you are over 50. 80% of those diagnosed are over 50 and the average age on diagnosis is a little over 60. Only 5% of those diagnosed are under 40, fewer than 0.1% are under 30 and it's almost unheard of in under 25s. Breast cancer is rarely hereditary; only 5 - 10% of all cases are hereditary due to a rare inherited faulty gene. Several people on the same side of your family having had breast cancer is an indication that it may be hereditary, especially if some developed it at a younger than usual age. The fact that your mother's mother had breast cancer doesn't put her at significantly increased risk unless your grandmother carried one of the two BRCA genes known to be responsible for hereditary breast cancer, though as the daughter of someone with breast cancer she is probably treated as at increased risk as a precaution. You don't say how old your relatives were; cancer diagnosed after the age of 50 is rarely hereditary Don't waste time worrying about a disease you don't have and are not likely to have for many years if at all

Breast cancer does not discriminate against age, race, or sex. I have heard of woman 19 years old with breast cancer. I had breast cancer almost 2 years ago when i was only 26 years old and i had no family history of it. Edit: I disagree with what the first person said that you should get tested for cancer when you are in your thirties. With you having a family history of cancer you need to start getting tested i think at least when you are 25. Don't wait until it is too late.

Women are faced with a tremendous amount of decisions during this time. Focusing on the absolute best nutritional support for your body so that it can more effectively fight a disease. No matter what you may or may not decide to do; it is important that you begin an aggressive nutritional supplement program to build up your body's natural immune, repair, and antioxidant defense system. Almost all researchers now believe that development of cancer is not an event but rather a multistage process that takes years or decades to develop. The history of breast cancer in your family may pre-despose you to it. More and more researchers are beginning to realize that this repeated damage to the DNA by excessive "free radicals" over 10 to 20 years that in fact may be the root cause of all cancers. A free radical is a molecule with unpaired electrons in its outer shell. It is highly reactive, and will “rob” a neighboring molecule of its electron, which in turn becomes a free radical – setting off a chain reaction of destruction. Free radicals come not only from pollution and toxins from the outside, but are also generated by our cells during the process of burning food for energy. What we put into our mouth matters a lot. So there is no practical way of avoiding them. What we need are Antioxidants to protect our cells. Antioxidants donate electrons to free radicals, but do not become free radicals as a result. Hence they stop the chain reaction of destruction. We should get a significant amount of antioxidants from our food and antioxodant rich supplement. The more the antioxidants in our body, the less damage free radicals cause. For more information of the source of the BEST of the BEST antioxidant supplement send email to adolfo.nierva@yahoo.com
