Why is there so much hype on Breast Cancer

Why is there so much hype on Breast Cancer?
i mean there are millions of other types of cancers out there but why is there so much publicity on breast cancer?

I work in Oncology and they ALL suck! F#ck cancer! I'm so sick of going home crying!

Breast cancer has so many advocates. It seems that other cancers are in need of advocates - so please feel free to join those causes that are close to your heart. The "hype" as you called it for breast cancer support started somewhere after all.

Because October is breast cancer awareness month.

i think its cause their so many survivors. since they have survived it they want to celebrate it && help others that may have been diagnosed with it get through it && put the word out their to get mammograms. its a very legit concern && should be in the spot light.

Because "We" As Breast Cancer Patients, Survivors, are Pro-Active about our health. If there is a cancer that YOU Want to be pro-active about, feel free! But please don't call it "HYPE". Unless you have HAD Breast Cancer, or know someone who had DIED From it, I can see how it would be Nothing to you. But to US It does.

Because women, bless them, network. If they know someone with cancer, they want to help, and if they are affected by breast cancer, they do all they can to hasten recovery, and help others avoid it. Men, on the other hand, are not good at promoting prostate cancer awareness, that's just how it is.
