Getting yourself checked regularly, making sure your blood sugar stays balanced (contracting no pre-diabetic syndromes), and general good health and eating habits will decrease your chances of breast cancer. Sleeping in a bra will neither increase or decrease your chances.
9 :
No, it's in your genes, not your bra.

RISK FACTORS IN BREAST CANCER We do not know yet the cause of breast cancer. The most common risk factors for breast cancer are being a woman and aging. However, research is augmenting our knowledge daily and some specific factors have been identified as potential risk factors. These include: More than one first-degree relative (mother, sister) has had breast cancer Mutations of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes Past history of breast cancer or previous breast biopsy Early menstruation (before age 12) Women who have had no children or their first child after age 30 Alcohol consumption While the impact of diet and weight is still being investigated, evidence suggests a high intake of dietary fat may be related to an increased incidence of breast cancer. Women with a history of breast cancer in their family should consult their physician to discuss their risk factors. Genetic testing is now available in many hospitals across Canada. HOW CAN YOU PROTECT YOURSELF FROM BREAST CANCER? Regular screening is also very important because the earlier the cancer is found, the more successful the treatment. No one detection method is foolproof. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation promotes the triad approach to breast health - breast self- examination (BSE) performed monthly, clinical breast exam performed annually by a qualified health care professional, and mammography every 2 years from ages 50-69 (or according to your provincial/territorial health plan), or where age or risk appropriate.

Cancer is caused by any number of things. Sleeping with a bra hasn't been found to be one of them. I've done that myself. You should have a mammogram done regularly, though, because breast cancer can be hereditary. P.S. I'm not a doctor. I'm saying this from knowledge and experience.

In no way, shape or form can sleeping in a bra cause breast cancer. Some people wear a bra 24/7 because of comfort. Although Jessica B was snotty about it she is right, you can't get cancer from clothes. If you were asking if constant bra wearing could cause cell damage from the pressure, leading to cancer, the answer is also "no". However, there are genetic tests out now that can determine if you are a higher risk than normal to develop breast cancer. I believe they encourage women who have a strong family history of breast cancer to get screened. I do not know your age, but talking to your OB/GYN or Medical doctor may help ease your mind. You sound to me like this is really causing you some stress. Please talk to YOUR doctor so he/she can help make you feel better. Good Luck Hon... :)

No, Wearing a bra to bad has nothing to do with breast cancer. Cancer is the abnormality of cells. Breast cacer is from the inside of your breasts, so wearing a bra cannot change the internal cell build-up of your body.

Sleeping in bras does not cause cancer, but can cause marks and discomfort to your skin. Nobody wears a bra to sleep in
