Would breast cancer show up on a CAT scan of the heart or lungs

Would breast cancer show up on a CAT scan of the heart or lungs?
I had a CAT scan in december? and i was wondering. If i had breast cancer would it show up on a CAT scan of the heart and/or lungs? I dont think it was very recent... I first thought i might have it like 2 years ago... but never went to the doctor or anything.

I have frequent CT scans due to my lung cancer. A couple of years ago, a suspicious shadow was seen on one of my breasts so was sent for a mammogram.. luckily it came back negative. So I would say a mammo would be more accurate than a CT scan for early detection of breast cancer.

You need a mammogram. A BSE (breast self examination) is a good first step. A mammogram procedure shoots low amplitude X-ray to examine the breast. No other imaging technique has been shown to reduce risk. A CT Scan needs IV contrast for an accurate assessment of cancer. An iodine dye (contrast material) is often used to make structures and organs easier to see on the CT pictures. A tumor and its surrounding healthy cells are only slightly different in densities. A CT Scan by itself would not be able to make the distinction. A CT Scan can see bones and denser organs okay, but needs help from special contrast materials to see veins, cancer, and other soft tissue well. Mammograms are better suited for soft tissue.

AC is right however, you don't always need a contrast. My sister fell on the ice and her chest really hurt. Her Dr. ordered a CT to see if her ribs were broken and wanted to make sure nothing else was going on. Well, that's when they found a tumor in her breast. It was malignant. So a CT can show a tumor not a cyst, but a tumor. and to the first girl who has lung cancer, I will remember you in my prayers. I hope you're alright

Is it possible for me to have breast cancer?
I am a 13 year old male. My nipple kind of hurts and I can feel a small bump. Is it possible that this is breast cancer. How do I know? I'm not joking. I noticed it was hurtung a little then I felt a lump. I'm kinda scared. PLEASE HELP!

Breast cancer is not particular when it comes to age or gender. Any time something doesn't seem right with your body, talk to your parents &/or your doctor. It is possible but not probable that you have breast cancer but you must have it checked by a doctor. There is no other way to know for sure. Be well.

no don't worry yourself over it. I had small bump in my under-arm close to my breast and i went to my doctor and she said i was just a swollen Hair follicle. But just so u can take a breather go to a doctor. Not every bump is cancer.

Yeah, men can have breast cancer too. You should go to a doctor and have it checked out though. If the doctor tells you that you don't have it, then ask them if theirs a way to do self examination

If you have a lump in you armpit can you have breast cancer?
i have a lump in my armpit which feels very strange. it's the size of an earser top (not that tall) Could it be a sign of breast cancer?

no. we have lymph nodes there, so if u feel one swollen you might be getting sick, so get antibiotics soon

There's a chance it could be. Any time you have an inexplicable lump, you should definitely have it seen about.

you should definitely get it checked out, but it could be a boil, pimple or even a hair bump. Does it hurt? Can you squeeze anything out of it?

I suppose it could be that. It could also be Hodgkin's Lymphoma. That is how my boyfriend found his. I am not trying to scare you but you should get it checked. 9 times out of 10 it is a cyst. The doctor will always tell you to get it checked though. They can tell on an ultra sound if it is solid or filled with fluid (a cyst). If it is that small it is probably nothing though. Make an appointment to get it looked at so you do not have to be worried. Best wishes.

This may indicate a change in the underlying structures. * Scaling or redness or a change of color or texture of the skin of the breast or Areola (such as dimpling, puckering, or scaliness) * Unusual dimpling in the breast which may indicate adhesion to underlying structures * Discharge from the breast or nipple. This can be clear, dark or bloody in nature. * Burning, itching or scaling of nipples. * Pain or tenderness in the breast or underarm area. If this does not relive over time possibility of breast cancer should be considered * Infection or inflammation of breast * Development of breast abscess * Bone pain may occur during the late stages of breast cancer due to involvement of bone * Change in the mental status, seizure, and neurological events can occur in the late stage of the disease due to involvement of brain or spinal cord * Jaundice may occur in the later stages of breast cancer due to the involvement of liver or surrounding structures. * Chest pain and difficulty in breathing may occur in the late stages of the disease due to involvement of lung and surrounding structures. Any changes in the breast should be reported to a doctor without delay. Symptoms can be caused by cancer or by a number of less serious conditions. Early diagnosis is especially important for breast cancer because the disease responds best to treatment before it has spread. The earlier breast cancer is found and treated, the better a woman's chance for complete recovery

You have a lump near your nipple. Usually one gets the cancer when s/he is over 40.

Breast cancer usually occurs in women above 40+, but it can occur in all ages and genders (yes, men can get breast cancer, but it's very very very rare.) Lumps on the breast may indicate breast cancer. If you find one, go to a doctor ASAP to get it checked out. Then you'll get a mammography.

Will I get breast cancer if my breast get hit a lot?
I am an athletic girl and I tend to play a lot of basketball and other sports. As i play these sports, my boobs either get smacked by the ball or a player accidentally hits them. I just played basketball a day ago and well the basketball hit my breast at least 5 times and my friend jerked it a couple of times too. I'm really scared. Will they grow smaller? Will they get bigger? Will i get breast cancer? what's going to happen?

First of all, cancer starts in cells, so no, you won't get breast cancer. It's not going to affect your breast growth unless you're not wearing a proper bra, either. :)
