How do you know that he doesn’t already fund breast cancer? He donates a lot of money. Do you know how to format a business letter? If not, you’re going to need to learn. I think you should spend more time concentrating on your spelling, punctuation and grammar. The opening sentence will come to you.

I would start like this: Dear Bill, Your Mother has breast cancer...what do you do? Naturally, your first reaction would be to get her the best doctor money could buy. As most people would have the same first thought...their second thought is...We just can't afford it. And then I would carry it on from there. Be sure to include statistics about breast cancer ie: survival rates with and without treatment, cost of treatment/surgery, and perhaps how many people can't afford health coverage. Hope this helps
