Can using a wireless laptop cause breast cancer?
I've heard a bit about this but don't know if it's just one of those myths however I use a wireless laptop on the net daily and often have the laptop up on my chest when in bed so could this cause breast cancer? Dumb question probably but a friend is adament it can and now I'm starting to worry.

It might, but as of yet there has been no science (that I am aware of) to back that up.
2 :
Nah it can't. people say if you fall on your breasts you get cancer, people say if you wear underwired bra's you get cancer, these are all myths/lies. cancer is cells in your body gone wrong. People make these lame things up, its silly =/ but don't worry about it:) but if it bothers you then you can always place it on your stomach? hope this helped:) Xx
3 :
No don't worry bout it. They are wrong trust me I do the same and I have done that for a long time and no it does not like andother person said its cells in your body.
4 :
It could because of the forces. I know using a cellphone can cause cancer. Any type. But I think it is defiantly possible

Any positive websites for those with breast cancer

Any positive websites for those with breast cancer?
I am looking for positive websites for those who have breast cancer- all the ones I find are stories about how this person fought it and died at 41 or along those lines. Or death rates and statistics. Its hard not getting depressed about having the disease when everywhere I look online has my outlook as not good. Does anyone know of more positive sites?

I'd be interested to see the answers on this as well. I was diagnosed last year and It's always encouraging to see other women doing well and being survivors.
2 :
I never found anything online that helped me feel better. There is a book called "Uplift" about breast cancer survivors, and I found that to be a support. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0743431375/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Just remember that they have a fix for everything these days! Cancer doesn't have to be a death sentence.
3 :
Well, it would be impossible for any site concerned with cancer to be totally positive. It would be dishonest too - people DO die of breast cancer. There won't be a site that tells you your prognosis is really good if it isn't, but there are sites with stories and experiences from women with a wide variety of breast cancer journeys. Personally I want to have all the statistics, but I know not everyone's like me in that respect. If you use breast cancer forums, yes you'll find sad stories of people who've died; but you'll also find posts and stories from people who are still around years after diagnosis. Offhand, the person on breast cancer care's forums I can think of who's been around longest is 18 years post initial diagnosos. I may be wrong, there may be people who've survived longer. http://www.breastcancercare.org.uk http://www.breastcancer.org I have to say I found 'Uplift' too upbeat and lightweight. I read it shortly after diagnosis, and it felt as if they were almost telling me breast cancer was a gift, and certainly telling me it wasn't serious.
4 :
try livestrong.org It is the Lance Armstron Foundation's website and is for all type of cancer. Or, instead of looking for websites, check with your local hospital for a support group such as "Reach For Recovery". It has been 4 years since I was diagnosed and life is wonderful. My sister is a 14 year survivor, my sister-in-law is a 3 year survivor and my aunt has survived it twice. All of us are now living healthy lives, even though the thought that it might peek its nasty little head out again is still there. What helped me get through treatment was to remember that I am not alone.

Breast Cancer Survivor Rates are Higher in the US. Will Hillary Cut that Down as a Way of Saving Money

Breast Cancer Survivor Rates are Higher in the US. Will Hillary Cut that Down as a Way of Saving Money?
How does Hillary view the tradeoff between saving lives and saving money? Does she want our moms and grandmothers to have less likely chances of surviving breast cancer or would she fight to protect our families even if it costs a ton of money?

Can you provide a link to anything that shows that any of the health plans include letting folks die to save money? Of course there are numerous examples of private insurance refusing procedures to save money....matter of fact a young girl in California died a few weeks ago after her insurance company denied a liver transplant to her
2 :
This is inaccurate. Several months ago during October another article ranked the US like 13th worldwide.
3 :
Hillary Clinton will likely give more benefits than any other candidate when elected as President.
4 :
...but maybe more people get breast cancer here than in other countries....
5 :
I agree many women around me have survived Breast Cancer---but then I work for a very well to do firm--and these women have the money to survive. What about the low income women that have no coverage, because there is no health coverage for them anymore, because they have lost their jobs during Bush's reign, or those hospitals that turn away women because they have no insurance or their insurance is not provided at that hospital. I never heard these problems during the clintons adminstration

What can I do to help my mom, she has breast cancer

What can I do to help my mom, she has breast cancer?
My mom has had breast cancer for about 2 to 3 months, now what should i do to help her?
Cancer - 9 Answers

If u believe in god pray it will so work trust me.
2 :
just be there for her, help with the chores around the house. You might take her to the dr. every once in a while. Take her some flowers this would really make her feel good, but most of all let your mom know how much you love her.
3 :
The best thing you can do for her is just be there for her, but at the same time respect her need for space if she askes for it. I know a lot of cancer drugs tend to make people very nausous, so you can make sure she has plenty of peppermint to help ease it. There a peppermint tea that is supposed to work really well but I can't remember the name of it. I do know that peppermint and spearmint do help settle a queasy stomach though. The other thing is don't treat her any differently. Find things that the two of you can do together. Help her find really cool hats to wear if she starts losing her hair. I know some people will shave their heads in support but check with her before you do that so as not to upset her.
4 :
help out as much as you can on the homefront, and ring the cancer council to get the advice and support you need, they are there to help people who have cancer AND their family members. Be strong girl. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
5 :
Been there - I learned a lot from my Mom's experience. Depending on your Mom's personality, your actions will differ. If your Mom is very independent, you can best help her by being encouraging - don't baby her and do all of her normal chores. If there are some light chores she can do, let her. You just make sure you help her with any heavier work. If this fits your Mom, then just ask her if there's anything you can help her with. My Mom was very strong, bright, and divorced so she was used to doing things for herself. She NEEDED to do as much as possible so she would not feel useless/worthless. If your mom is not so independent, she may prefer that you do everything for her - she may want to be babied and pampered. If that's the case you can help her out a lot, but still encourage her to do some things for herself. Her actions may say she wants to be babied, but she may really just want attention. So help her in moderation, but also offer to help her by doing things WITH her. Lastly - Don't be afraid to talk about the disease. Don't change the subject if she brings it up. Do research so you understand what is going on with her physically and mentally. Your Mom is probably afraid - that's normal. Don't be afraid to let her know that you are afraid too.
6 :
help her around the house pray for her wen they have walks go 2 them hope i helped! =D
7 :
Let her get some rest, help her eat right. Do some cooking & cleaning for her. Make her feel good! Tell her how great she looks, how great she is, etc. BE POSITIVE! Have a mother/daughter night out, or watch a movie together at home. Be EXTREMELY supportive & make sure that she gets to her appointments. Lean on God & others!
8 :
Don't treat her like she can't do anything for herself. But do more things around the house, be supportive and positive {always up in spirit} praying don't hurt. She can and will beat it. Just be there for her!! My prayers are with you...*
9 :
please try not to use Kemo therapy i watched my g-pa go through due to Lung Cancer and Biasthetic lung cancer in the liver and i couldnt bear it. There are other options lik ehaving it surgically removed but it can come back. I hope your mom is okay i work with breastcancer patients with my mom so i know how peoples family are effected by it. so i hope you and your mom are okay and spend time with her just in case the worst happens but i always try to think that she will be okay. GOOD LUCK

NOPE! Sounds more like fluid filled cysts. As a guideline cancer doubles in size every 6 months. At the 1 cell stage that is not a big deal - but do the math and it becomes a problem. Most cancers have be present for an average of 6 years before being detected. Good luck!
2 :
Did you recently get anything pierced? It could be swollen lymph nodes due to some kind of trauma. It could also be infected milk glands. Hopefully the mammogram will help out

Are there symptoms to breast cancer that are not breast related

Are there symptoms to breast cancer that are not breast related?
Many other cancers have symptoms like nausea, pain, tiredness, bleeding, headaches, etc. Are there symptoms that are common but non-breast related to breast cancer?
Cancer - 5 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Your lymph nodes (under your arms) can become enlarged and tender. Back pain can be associated with advanced breast cancer -- it usually indicates an advanced cancer that has metastasized. Don't listen to the guy who wants photos of your breasts.
2 :
Under my arm hurt because the lymph nodes were swelling up and had been infected. I dont know of any other symptoms that would have alerted me except the breast area.
3 :
The best thing to do is get a thermography. Thermal imaging is over 95% accurate in the early detection of breast cancer. There is no compression and no harmful radiation. It is also 10 years earlier detection than mammography! Thermography is designed to show the pre-cancerous changes in the breast tissue before a tumor ever develops. It is absolutely unprecedented in the early detection of breast cancer. Check out: www.thermographyfirst.com for more info on it.
4 :
The symptoms of possible breast cancer are change in size - one breast may have become noticeably larger or lower nipple change - if it becomes inverted (pulled in) or changes its position or shape rash - on or around the nipple discharge - from one or both nipples puckering or dimpling - around nipple swelling รข€“ in your armpit or around your collarbone (from lymph nodes) lump or thickening - that feels different from the rest of the breast tissue All symptoms are breast or underarm related unless the cancer has spread to other parts of the body - typically the brain, liver, bones or lungs - in which case there may well be other symptoms. But most cases of breast cancer are diagnosed before this has had a chance to happen. Nausea, tiredness etc are not breast cancer symptoms. Most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain, but some do - I did.
5 :
I had no symptoms at all. My cancer was discovered on my baseline mammogram. It was a large tumor and had spread to 5 of my lymph nodes. The symptoms mentioned below (nipple puckering, etc) are usually found in advanced disease. You should have your symptoms checked out though. You didn't say where you are bleeding from but it sounds like something you should look into

does getting your boob sucked out and getting implants prevent breast cancer

does getting your boob sucked out and getting implants prevent breast cancer?
I was watching some reality show or documentary before, and the girl had this surgery done because both her mom and sister died of breast cancer. Does this prevent it? Yeah, but men have breast tissue. I wanted to know if the surgery literally gets rid of all breast tissue and makes it impossible to get breast cancer.
Cancer - 8 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
It could, I mean, she basically got a mastectomy.
2 :
Yes. There is a gene that predisposes women to developing breast cancer. The woman in the show likely has the gene. By removing her natural breast tissue and getting artificial implants, she cannot develop breast cancer.
3 :
hell no. Even, man can get breast cancer
4 :
Studies show a relevant decrease in the chance of breast cancer in women with implants ranging from 27-53%, but not a 100% prevention method. "So why does this happen? Well, I don't think it's because that breast implants have some sort of special protective properties when it comes to breast cancer, although some investigators are looking into this possibility. It's more likely that the women who get breast implants are drawn from a low-risk population. Most plastic surgeons, for example, wouldn't put implants in a patient with a strong family history of breast cancer....but this only partially explains the findings of these studies. Further research is needed to come up with the full explanation. It's good to know, that at the very least, breast implants do not increase your risk of developing a breast cancer." -Hope this helps.
5 :
If a woman has a mastectomy and reconstruction, her chances of getting breast cancer are dramatically lowered, but not zeroed. She would still require yearly mammograms and such to make sure it worked. In theory, if a man had his breast tissue removed, his risk would also be lowered.
6 :
It will reduce chances but will not prevent completely. This girl with positive family history needs to be under careful screening.
7 :
Breast cancer is predominately a woman's cancer over 50 and getting a breast augmentation reduces the chances. less then 1% of men get breast cancer children are not affected by breast cancer.
8 :
Yes indeed! It lowers the risk. You can get free price quotes from surgeons here: http://access.im/2/cosmeticsurgery

Can shaving my underarms have a link to breast cancer

Can shaving my underarms have a link to breast cancer?
Someone is telling me not to shave my underarms, simply because it is linked to breast cancer, and if I use anti-perspirants and shave my underarms, it will give me/ increase my chance of getting cancer. Is this true? It's really bothering me, and it's getting rather hairy there.
Women's Health - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
It's not true. There was a study done on women who used antiperspirants directly after underarm shaving that claims it led to an increased risk but its not conclusive. There is no scientically tangible data that says any such thing.
2 :
NO!
3 :
No and your arm pits will smell better
4 :
no
5 :
I think the shaving part is harmless, but researchers have discovered that the use of antiperspirants prevent your underarms from sweating, so the natural toxins in your sweat that are supposed to come out of the body is blocked by the antiperspirant and builds up over time in nearby areas (the breasts). If that is a concern to you, try using organic products.
6 :
No shaving does not cause breast cancer. IF this was true majority of females in the world would get it. Do you ever see any girl in picture with hairy armpits
