I have heard this also but I think the danger is higher if you also smoke while on birth control. They also say that prolonging having a child increases a womans chance of breast cancer. I would be discussing this with your doctor for sure especially that there is a history of it in your family. It's important that you get the correct advice. Good Luck!

I don't think that's true i would ask my OBGYN about that before i started taking them.. They are they best one to give u the best advice on that kind of thing and point u in the right direction of what u want to do and not do..

Taking hormones can increase your chance of getting cancer. That's true. There are different types of breast cancer so I guess it could depends on that. I was under impression that the pill can reduce chance of breast cancer but increase possibility of certain others if you are prone to cancer due to family history. Cancer runs big time in my family so I chose not to be on birth control (plus I've tried various types of birth control and none of them seem to agree with my body lol)
