yes. there is still tissues under the breast. -maybe if you get fake boobs and then if you get cancer you can get a warrenty and get free ones -
2 :
Yes, as the implants do not replace the glands.
3 :
Yes because you still have breast tissue and glands when you have implants, they put the implants under the muscle layer usually and do not remove the existing breast tissue unless they are removing cancer. So yes, you can still get breast cancer if you have implants.
4 :
Yes.
5 :
If you have breast tissue than that tissue can still develop malignancies. If your breast tissue is completely removed than you could not get breast cancer. Cancer develops in cells . . and the body has many, many different types of cells . . any of those cells at any time can develop a cancer. So, yes, if there is breast cells or tissue under the implants it is still possible to get breast cancer.
6 :
Yes you can

Avon’s “Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer” Campaign in the Philippines

Avon’s “Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer” Campaign in the Philippines.?
1. How important is the need to consider local conditions in implementing health campaigns that are part of a global initiative? 2. What local conditions do you think are important for implementing a campaign in the rural Philippines? 3. What other possible groups and institutions can AVON tap as possible partners in their crusade against breast cancer in the Philippines?

I'm so sorry, I don't live in the Philippines. But, where I live, we can sign up to do a 3 day hike/walk to raise money for breast cancer. Maybe, if you feel so strongly about this, you could start your own and help people in need :) sorry that this isnt much help but I hope it at least helped a little

How much does chemotherapy for breast cancer cost

How much does chemotherapy for breast cancer cost?
i need to write about the economical implications of chemotherapy for breast cancer for a coursework but i cant even find how much it costs? Preferably from the UK

1 :
My out of pocket for all treatment ran about $5000, with health insurance picking up around $135,000 for all treatment (chemo, radiation, surgery, Herceptin). The chemo portion billed to the insurance company was, total, about $35,000.
2 :
Understanding what chemotherapy does is a must for this question, and then we take costs into consideration. Not all breast cancer patients have the same kind of breast cancer. I believe that it is a general term and you can have twenty breast cancer patients and not one of them will have the exact same breast cancer. We had Triple Negative Breast Cancer Stage 2 B. This cancer is very aggressive breast cancer and it grows rapidly. The costs include a Port A Cath because our oncologist would NOT accept us if we did not get one surgically implanted. Because chemotherapy destroys good cells as well as bad cells we needed a drug that boosts white blood counts in the body. This drug Neupogen at the hospital pharmacy for a week supply costs, $12,695.00. Initially they said it was not covered by our insurance carrier, but a phone call from our oncologist was the difference and they arranged for us to be able to order it through mail with a month supply for $200.00 a month. If we DID NOT have insurance that cost alone would be $190,425.00. The port cost with all the things needed in surgery was about $3,500. We had over 27 weeks of 3 types of chemotherapy to fight TNBC. Our expense was about $2,000 a week. This included: Blood work, visit with oncologist, infusion of drugs. So a rough estimate of only chemotherapy would be about $58,000. With the port about $61,000. Overall our cancer expense is over $375,000 and still counting. Stage one breast cancer has a great survival rate of 95%. Without insurance the survival rate drops to 52%. Why? Because patients cannot afford treatments so they don't do it. That is why we need a national health care plan.
3 :
It's free on the NHS

You can easily check your minimal health care rates in internet, for example here - health-quotes.isgreat.org

Does a lump in a breast necessarily mean breast cancer

Does a lump in a breast necessarily mean breast cancer?
I feel this lump in my right breast, but my friend said that it's normal to have a ball shaped thing inside of breasts. I don't really believe her so I'm just wondering for some helpful answers. Could this be cancer? Also, my breast always hurt when they're pushed against me is this normal? (FYI- i have small breasts could this have something to do with it?)

It could quite possibly be breast cancer. Go to a doctor and get it checked. Cancer or not, it's better to catch it early and get treatment, don't wait until it's gotten too bad if it is cancer.
2 :
get to the doctors as soon as you can. it sounds pretty serious, not to freak you out or anything. i think breast cancer is supposed to feel like a little pea inside the breast. i don't know but i'd get it checked out just because there's pain. and it doesn't matter how small your breasts are or how young you are, a friend of my mom who has a 7 or 8 year old daughter was complaining of chest pains. she took her to the doctors and they found something cancerous in her breasts. hurry and get to the doctors.
3 :
No, but it necessarily means you need to get it checked out. It could be just a cyst, but if it is cancer, early diagnosis in the key. This is one of those things where you do not procrastinate, but rather take definitive action. See your doctor.
4 :
If you're young, you most likely don't have it. I had a very painful lump last year and I went to the doctors and it wasnt cancer. But I was still freaking out. You should go to the doctor but don't be scared. It could be anything.
5 :
Ignore these idiots who are trying to scare you. You do need to see a Doctor and be examined though. It sounds like cysts. I had it and so did a ton of my friends. It's quite common, but you should have routine tests anyway regardless of problems or not. Best wishes.
6 :
Having read your question I am assuming you are in your teens. Of lumps that Dr's determine warrant further investigation, less than 20% are found to be caused by cancer. Breast size is no indication of your risk, you can be totally flat chested (even men can get breast cancer) or have DD breasts, your risk of breast cancer is the same. Breast cancer is a disease of mature breast tissue. While 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over their lifetime, 80% will be over 50. Less than 0.1% ( about 1 in 8000) will be diagnosed under the age of 30. It is so rare for the under 20's that there are no statistics readily available. Teenagers can develop childhood cancers that can occur anywhere in the body, including the chest area, but these are very rare, although more likely than breast cancer. Frankly you have more chance of being struck by lightning while inside your home. Adolescent and teenage breasts are commonly swollen, lumpy, tender, uneven, changeable and hormonal, none of which is breast cancer, which is why it is recommended that women start breast self examinations at 20, before that there is no "normal" to compare to! If you are worried talk to your mother, school nurse, trusted adult or family Dr rather than asking strangers on the internet.
7 :
There are common signs or symptoms of breast cancer : 1. The most obvious sign of this ailment is a lump in the breast or armpit. A self-examination test, once a month, or a visit to the doctor can expose any lump in this area. 2. Change in the size of the breast & shape. If you notice any unusual changes in its shape or size, do not ignore it. 3. There is nipple inversion & spontaneous single nipple discharge. If you observe that your nipples are turning inwards, this may be an indication that everything is not working as well. 4. Pain in the breast is not a reliable symptom but can also be indicative of other breast problems.
8 :
I feel you should get checked out by your doctor for your own piece of mind. It doesn't mean you have breast cancer but get it checked. I found a lump in my breast last year. I had mine checked by the doctor. I had tests done, discovered I have breast cancer, stage 2-early detection. I'm pleased I found it early and went to the doctor. I hope you haven't got breast cancer, good luck.
9 :
Ok sweety, EVERY girls boob hurts if someone pushes on it, second the ball I don't know about because that should disappear at the age 12. If you are self concious about this small boob thing get breast implants and they will be bigger but get them in a few years because they say bombs are in them right now from terrorists. I also think if you do live a happy life it will be over in 2 years remember 2012 hopefully you will die in piece f****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Have a nice breast cancer life FYI guys hate small breasts)
10 :
babe i am sorry to tell this to u BUT U HAVE BREAST CANCER BECAUSE THAT IS NOT NORMAL AT ALL. if i were u i wud cry so much i would just kill myself tonight. say goodbye to all ur loved ones and tell them tht u will see them in heaven. if u have a lump and they hurt the chances r that u have breast cancer are this. : 100/100. good luck little girl and before u die u shud have sex because everyone wants to have sex before they die ( it's a must ) no matter how old u r, just slippa the dicka into ur va jay jay. thn baby u will die a happy death so then u dnt have to be alone in the afterlife because when ur man dies ( the one u had sex with ) u can just have air sex with him ( cuz ur a ghost DUUUHH ) well at least u can have sex again. gooood luck and bye have a nice time in heaven

They found a lump on my right breast, could it be cancer

They found a lump on my right breast, could it be cancer?
I am 25, i went to the doctor because I had a cold and she did a full physical and found a lump on my right breast and wants it ultra sound she didnt want a mammogram because i am too young to automatically consider it to be cancer but wants to check it out. It feels like a pebble pea size. My ultra sound is not til the 20th and I am super anxious and worried my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer at 32 also very young. I just wanted to hear thoughts and opinions i know only my doctor can tell me the diagnosis but it doesnt hurt to talk about it.

some lumps on the breast can be normal, some due to hormones, and alot of other stuff. its not necacarily cancer and the fact that your so young its most likely not cancer, but i think your doc is doin a good thing just to be sure, if it is they can catch it real early and take it out not necacarily having to take off the whole breast. dont fret too much stress can make you sick. so take care of yourself and relax.
2 :
Well it is always good to hope for the best. My mother use to be basically addicted to Diet Coke and she found a small lump in one of her breasts and they found that it was from drinking too much diet soda. I don't know if you drink a lot of diet soda but if you do, it may be because of that. Don't fret yet. It may be something small that you shouldn't lose sleep over. Good luck to you.
3 :
With your aunts history I would get a mammogram if I were you - just for the baseline and the peace of mind. At your age it is probably a cyst and the ultrasound will find that because of the density. But it really does fry my butt that these tests can not be more timely. (The facility in my area is wonderful in this respect). Good luck - and the mother in me just has to say "Don't worry". You might want to read the book "Waking the Warrior Goddess" - give you something to do while you wait the the test.
4 :
Hopefully, it is not cancer, but you should definitely get it checked out and you should also get a mammogram and an ultra sound ASAP. Because, if unfortunately it is indeed cancer, then the sooner the doctor diagnoses it, the better chance they have of treating & stopping it in its early stages. Feel Better!
5 :
I just want to add this to these great answers. It could be a cyst, but like a previous answerer said 'with your family history of breast cancer at a young age' I would definitely push the doctor for a mammagram. If the doctor is resentant, find a doctor that will. Remember regardless of what the first doctor says always get second opinions until your conscious is put at ease.
6 :
AND I would like to add.... It is both very mature and wise of you to talk about it and get all the information you can (be sure it is CORRECT information). We girls need to prepare ourselves for an imperfect world (and guys too) and then go out there and live as if everything is going to be fine. God bless.
7 :
80% of breast lumps are not cancerous. An ultrasound is definitely the next step for you though. If you're not satisfied with what the doctor tells you though, don't be afraid to push for another test. I was only 28 with no family history when I was diagnosed. You're doing the right thing by getting it checked out!!
8 :
Only 10% of BC is family history but with your family history you are at higher risk. Young women do get it. It is still a very small % . Don't work yourself up until you have to you are still young and most likely it is nothing. A lot of things cause a lumps. and a lot of BC have no lumps. No it doesn't hurt to talk aout it it is just not good to worry about it. Either way you will be just fine.
9 :
I had a lump in my breast when I was 29 years old I also went for the ultrasound. When the results came back it was a strain from carrying my son around all the time. You need to relax it could be a benign tumor maybe even a cyst. You will make yourself worse by worrying try to relax and think positive

How likely is it that I might get breast cancer when I'm older

How likely is it that I might get breast cancer when I'm older?
I found out my mom has been diagnosed with breast cancer today and it got me worried. My grandmother on my father's side also had it but other than that, we don't have any family history of having breast cancer. I am wondering how likely is the chance that I might have breast cancer when I'm older? Is it very high? or is it about the same as all the other women out there? Thanks.
