They found a lump on my right breast, could it be cancer

They found a lump on my right breast, could it be cancer?
I am 25, i went to the doctor because I had a cold and she did a full physical and found a lump on my right breast and wants it ultra sound she didnt want a mammogram because i am too young to automatically consider it to be cancer but wants to check it out. It feels like a pebble pea size. My ultra sound is not til the 20th and I am super anxious and worried my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer at 32 also very young. I just wanted to hear thoughts and opinions i know only my doctor can tell me the diagnosis but it doesnt hurt to talk about it.

F irst, don't worry. Most women have a lump that flares up hormonally around their menstrual cycle. I have one that flares up during my PMS time. Just keep an eye on it and check it annually. Tell yoru doctor about your family's breast cancer history.
2 :
Scary. When I was 24 I had a lump during my pregnancy with our son. It went away (hormonal) but an ultra sound is a good way to see - I had my first mammogram today ever the first thing she said was there is a good chance I'd be back for further films to get a better study of my breasts - so it's so worry-some (fear of the unknown) Being you have a family history it's good you went to the MD your cold may be a good thing after all - Hang in there until the 20th - and think +++ thoughts

Is it against NCAA rules to wear pink gloves even in support for Breast Cancer Awareness

Is it against NCAA rules to wear pink gloves even in support for Breast Cancer Awareness?
I know there is a rule that says gray gloves only but are college football players (division 3) allowed to wear pink gloves for Breast Cancer Awareness?

Yes.
2 :
If there isn't a rule, then there should be. Anyways, there probably isn't many gay football players anyways.
3 :
I think the should be allowed but i dont know
4 :
I am not sure if it there is a rule against it. I know many sports have a rule saying one player can wear them if the team does. In the NFL players have to have uniforms that match with the rest of the team. Like with the NFL wearing pink for breast cancer, it was okayed by the NFL, but if it wasn't sponsored by the league then one player couldn't wear it. The rest (or most) of the team would have to as well. Like with the whole Pat Tillman thing. NFL players on (I believe the Cardinals) wore things in memory of him. When the rest of the team stopped, a few players wanted to keep wearing this item (I think it was a decal, but not sure) and the NFL said no, because they weren't in uniform with the rest of the team

How can an atheist be surviving breast cancer and being Bipolar

How can an atheist be surviving breast cancer and being Bipolar??
How can this lady I know next door from me be surviving breast cancer and being Bipolar and getting everything she needs, money, meds, support, etc... free apt... free everything, walking the streets with two ugly dogs, and she is constantly saying how much she has, but her place smells like pee, but she is alive and happy and running around, and taking her chemo and meds, and surviving, how so without her believing in GOD???? She says she does not, and she never lies to me.

Why would believing in god make any difference?
2 :
Believing or not believing in a non-existent being won't change either way in making the imaginary being real. Atheists and theists alike are alive because we're all humans who have survived thus far.
3 :
it's cuz she doesn't lie. so she's awesome enough to be happy
4 :
Because believing in gods doesn't make someone more or less likely to survive cancer.
5 :
do not judge OR-----------------------------------------------------------------------JUDGED
6 :
God's blessings are spiritual. Also ever heard of the verse God sends rain on the just and the unjust.
7 :
Perhaps because she recognizes that it's due to science - not god - she is still alive.
8 :
FACT: prayer kills more people than it saves.
9 :
I'm Bipolar, your point is what exactly?Anyone can survive.
10 :
Because she is one tough mofo

Can breastfeeding increase your risk of breast cancer

Can breastfeeding increase your risk of breast cancer?
Can breastfeeding increase your risk of breast cancer later on, especially if you only do it for a very short time (like a month or so? )
Newborn & Baby - 11 Answers

The more you breastfeed, the lower your risk of breast cancer. So breastfeeding for 6 months is better than 1 month, and 1 month is better than nothing.
2 :
You actually lower your risk the longer you breast feed.
3 :
No at all. It lowers the risk. Plus It's very healthy for the Baby.
4 :
Im no professional but im pretty sure it can actually decrease the risk.
5 :
Breastfeeding actually reduces your risk of getting breast cancer.
6 :
I don't have the reference handy but I believe studies have shown that it actually DECREASES your chances of getting breast cancer. By the way, my wife wasn't too thrilled about breastfeeding our daughter until she did it. It takes some time to get a routine worked out and their are plenty of resources that can help you. Even if you only do it for a month, the emotional bonding and health benefits to the baby are well worth it. By the way, breast feeding also helps you loose weight!
7 :
No. It decreases your risk of getting breast cancer.
8 :
no it DECREASES the chances
9 :
Studies show that it decreases the overall risk, however you should still routinely check for abnormalities (self-exam). My sister nursed for 2 months and pumped for 3 more. We lost her to breast cancer in '05.
10 :
No, in fact the opposite is true. NOT breastfeeding can INCREASE your risk of developing breast cancer. The longer you do it, the lower your risk.
11 :
The younger you are when you breastfeed the lower your chances are of ever getting breast cancer

Will it be hard for a 12 year old dog to recover from breast cancer surgery

Will it be hard for a 12 year old dog to recover from breast cancer surgery?
My 12 year old maltese has breast cancer. She has about three lumps altogether about the size of halfmy thumb. The vet did a blood test on her and she's okay for surgery. We're worried that with her old age it'll be harder for her to recover. She's really active now...like reallly active. It would be nice if anyone could give me details of your dog's recovery to surgery or any personal experiences from such eg. recovery process etc

We had a 10 year old dog spayed, who bounced back from surgery like a puppy did, but she was in great health, so that made a difference. If your vet thought she'd have a hard time recovering, he probably wouldn't do the surgery.
2 :
It really depends on the dog. If she is an active dog and her blood work came back normal she should do ok. Of course there is no way to know for sure. She will probably have a harder time recovering then a younger dog would. You just have to weigh the pros and cons. If you leave her with mammary tumors does the doctor think the cancer will spread? Will they eventually get to large to be surgically removed? You have to do what you think is right. Many dogs do just fine after surgery and you can't even tell they had any. I have a cat that has had mammary tumors removed twice. She recovered well both times and she is older. Unfortunately I have been told that if they come back she may not be able to have them removed. The skin on her belly is getting too tight. So it's better to remove them before they get to big if you plan on removing them at all.
3 :
A 12 year old dog shouldn't be put thru surgery. Let her live out her life in peace, and have her put down when the time comes. I've had 2 older dogs who had cancer, and I would NEVER put them thru surgeries. They were put down when their quality of life was no longer good. Your vet is a money grubbing moron. No reputable vet suggests surgery for a dog with cancer, at the age of 12. If you want a second opinion, have your vet refer you to a canine oncologist.
4 :
With a toy breed dog 12 is not that old. Your dog realisitically has another 5 years to live. Most types of mammary cancers are highly treatable, and your dog has an excellent chance of recovery and enjoying many more years of quality life

Has anyone sued tobacco companies over breast cancer

Has anyone sued tobacco companies over breast cancer?
Beside breast cancer who else has sued them for any thing cancer related. And uh how does the government support/fund breast cancer research, more specially breast cancer and smoking.

1 :
I don't think you can sue a tobacco company for breast cancer. Those suits were for lung cancer and years ago. They've had warnings on the packs for many years now. Now if you smoke, it's your own problem.
2 :
In this country you can sue anyone for anything, but there is no link between breast cancer and smoking.
3 :
I don't know why Denisedds' answer has a thumbs down, she is completely right. There is no link between breast cancer and smoking. Check out all the reputable and responsible breast cancer websites and charities - for example breast cancer.org, Breast Cancer Care, Breakthrough Breast Cancer; all of them list the recognised risk factors for breast cancer. None of those lists includes smoking. Smoking is a risk factor for some cancers; breast cancer is not one of them

Need gift for a 10 year Breast cancer survivor, any clue what to get

Need gift for a 10 year Breast cancer survivor, any clue what to get?
My sister's 10 year remission for breast cancer is comming up and I do not know what to get. If you have any ideas o suggestions I'll aprecciate them

Get her flowers or a plant.
2 :
How about a donation in her name to an organization that helps women with breast cancer, or does breast cancer research? I know it isn't an original idea, but I bet she will be happy knowing that your money is helping other people to survive what she did. Also, give her a big hug and tell her how much you love her, and how much she has accomplished in the past ten years.
3 :
gift certificate for a spa day
4 :
How about an experience gift? balloon flight, day trip somewhere special, weekend hotel stay where you used to holiday as children, fly a light aircraft, tea at Harrods? Or jewelry engraved?
5 :
I don't really have ideas for gifts, but just want to say that's fantastic; it's the sort of news people like me who've been in remission for a shorter time (4 years in my case) need to hear!
6 :
I would want a donation to the hospital that saved her life. That is me though. God Bless

Your dog is 12 damn years old, it should be dead by now.
2 :
Being active is a good sign. Why not you wait and see what happens to your dog? As ur dog reaches this age, dont expect it to live much longer.
3 :
Do not make the dog go through hard times in life, just put it down. Good luck
