Well it obviously depends on how long this article has to be? Couple paragraphs...or like a page or so? Anyhow, maybe touch on why it has been declared 'BC awareness month", as well as why it such an important topic, you could include statistics but keep it relevant to the MAIN point of the article...you can also provide a few resources for more information such as amer cancer scoiety, etc...
2 :
Well you can consider some from the following in the main body of the article : Breast Cancer - What it is Breast Cancer - self examination How to Do it? Breast Cancer Examination by a Doctor Regular Checkups Breast Cancer Treatment Emotional Support to Patient Information on Breast Cancer Symptoms Health Insurance Breast Cancer Causes, Risk Factors Diagnosis & Management Of Breast Cancer. How is breast cancer diagnosed? Statistics may be used only in support of your statements and re ligated to the main article by way of Tables.
3 :
You can discuss the history of the event, statistics, symptoms of breast cancer, how to properly do self checks, breast cancer treatments, the process and important of getting mammograms after 40 years of age, listings of government agencies that can provide more information and help, etc. We want women to know how treatable and curable the disease is when caught early. All the best, Heather

Can sleeping with your bra on really cause breast cancer

Can sleeping with your bra on really cause breast cancer?
Im 13 and still going through breast development so I sleep with a bra on because I find my breasts hurt if I dont wear one. My friend told me that sleeping with a bra on can cause breast cancer. Is this true or is she trying to freak me out?

According to the American Cancer Society, there is "no scientific or clinical basis" to an Internet rumor that claims that under-wire bras cause breast cancer. So tell your mom that there is no proof that wearing a bra — night or day — has any link to cancer. Are you having pain in your breasts? Painful breasts are often caused by normal hormonal shifts; many girls feel particularly tender right around the time of their period. But if the pain is consistent, or your back is hurting, mention it to your doctor and ask what might be causing your discomfort. Are you wearing a bra a night because you feel uncomfortable by your developing breasts? Sometimes it seems like they'll never stop growing, or you may feel like they're not the "right" (whatever that means) shape and size. It's stressful when your body goes through such rapid changes or growth spurts. Just remember, no matter how much you think you look weird or different, everyone else goes through similar moments of anxiety and total body trauma. — Kate Forest, MSW

theres another question exactly like this its still open so u might want to go check out some of the answers
3 :
no, but you shouldn't sleep with a bra on while you are developing...that's what is causing the pain.
4 :
she's full of crap! Don't you think we would hear about that on tv or something?!
5 :
No it wont cause breast cancer and it will not affect the growth of breast.
6 :
no! Your friend is either lying or is mis-informed
7 :
your friend is full it. Cancer happens when cells mutate and over grow. This is caused by DNA, free radicals, radiation exposure, chemicals and carcinogens. Unless your bra contains chemicals, you have a greater chance getting cancer from watching tv than you do from your bra. Think about it, millions of women wear bras, not just while they are sleeping. Yet of those who wear them while they are awake, as apose to sleeping, no correlation is linked to breast cancer.
8 :
yah. friend is wrong and trying to scare you.
9 :
I've heard that as well. it's supposed to be if the bra is too tight.that it can be tight enough to affect the lymphatic fluid draining properly, causing problems.you don't need to wear a bra for around the house

Does a breast cancer lump usually feel like a single ball or several small round masses clumped together

Does a breast cancer lump usually feel like a single ball or several small round masses clumped together?
If you or someone you know has had breast cancer, did the lump feel like a single round hard ball, or did it feel like several small round masses clumped close together like many peas?

Seeing how I'm only 15, I'll only point out that my knowledge is very dim, so just bear with me. No one in my family has ever had breast cancer (my grandmother got it, but she kept getting regular mammograms at the time, and they caught it in its earliest stages), so I'm not sure if it would be a single ball or a clump of smaller ones. What I do know is that tumors don't move with the skin. For example, if you have a mole on your arm, and you move the skin around the arm, the mole moves with it. Tumors will stay in the same place when you move the skin. If it doesn't move, then I recommend seeing a doctor as soon as possible. Even if it isn't, or even if it's benign, it would be safe to have it checked out.

yes i had breast cancer , my lump was a like a small marble.and quiet moveable pls get it check out early detection is very important

Is gray pus from the one breast a symptom of breast cancer

Is gray pus from the one breast a symptom of breast cancer?
My period is still no since Nov. 30. my breasts are painful and swelled. sometimes itchy. 4 days ago after shower, I found gray pus coming from the left and white (milk) coming from the other. What is this? I went to the doctor and he asked for mammogram and in the application form and under the signs and symptoms he wrote breast cancer!! I'm worried and can't wait until the results come. Can anyone help and tell me what is that? I'm 39 and can't feel hard lump.

He was ruling out breast cancer, that is why he wrote it. It's possible that you have breast cancer, it might also be an infections of the glands. Good Luck to you.
2 :
Press down and feel around on your breasts to check for any hard lumps. Cancerous lumps are typically hard as rock, so you'll know if you feel anything abnormal. That's a good indicator to let you know if you may be at risk for breast cancer. If you don't feel anything hard, you may be lucky. As hard as it is to wait, besides praying to God everything is okay, it's the only thing you can do at this point. I hope everything turns out okay. Best of luck. xx
3 :
I know that seeing those words scared you, but please try to wait until you do get the results of the mammogram first before you worry yourself too much. Don't know how old you are, but I too had a scare myself when I was 15. Found a lump in my right breast and thought the worst. Also had a dark green discharge that came out of the right nipple. Had the lump removed and it turned out to be fine. Hope you also get good news and in the meantime, try hard to relax abit. Lastly, IF it does turn out to be breast cancer, just remember that alot of women these days live for many years with cancer or can be cured of cancer all together. Just take things one step at a time and go from there!
4 :
at one time i had a grayish green pus coming from my left breast and my dr told me i had an infected milk duct.
5 :
sounds like an infection. Im not a doctor though I would wait as bad as it may be it could always be worse

is it true if your at risk for breast cancer birth control is not a good idea

is it true if your at risk for breast cancer birth control is not a good idea?
ok so my family has a history for breast cancer & i heard that birth control pills are bad for people (like me) who have a high chance of getting breast cancer later on in life. anyone have an information on this? please help! thank you!

I have heard this also but I think the danger is higher if you also smoke while on birth control. They also say that prolonging having a child increases a womans chance of breast cancer. I would be discussing this with your doctor for sure especially that there is a history of it in your family. It's important that you get the correct advice. Good Luck!
2 :
I don't think that's true i would ask my OBGYN about that before i started taking them.. They are they best one to give u the best advice on that kind of thing and point u in the right direction of what u want to do and not do..
3 :
Taking hormones can increase your chance of getting cancer. That's true. There are different types of breast cancer so I guess it could depends on that. I was under impression that the pill can reduce chance of breast cancer but increase possibility of certain others if you are prone to cancer due to family history. Cancer runs big time in my family so I chose not to be on birth control (plus I've tried various types of birth control and none of them seem to agree with my body lol)

Is it possible for a 14 year old to get Breast Cancer

Is it possible for a 14 year old to get Breast Cancer?
I am 14 and I noticed that I have a bump on the side of my breast. My mother had Breast Cancer twice and my grandmother had it once. I'm afraid that it could be hereditary.

it is possible since it runs in your family I would check into it with your doctor but you are young so it may just be your breast tissue making your breast be bumpy I exsperienced the same thing when I was about your age all I did was massage them and I talked to my doctor he said it is normal my bumps were on the right sides in case that might help you out.Talk to your mom about this bump and see what she thinks about it.good luck
2 :
It is possible, however it is more likely that it is a cyst or just the natural texture of your breast. there is a hereditary risk, and it is even more likely if your mom had breast cancer while pregnant with you. to be safe, you should go to your doctor and get it checked out. good luck!
3 :
it is very unlikely. however since you have a family history i think your chances are higher. you should probably ask your doctor. may you please answer mine? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aj.Ju_2Va_.4E5hCERkq3xTsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090213192738AAVfL4E thanks and i hope it's nothing.
4 :
The chance of a 14 year old having breast cancer is very small. At your age "lumpy" breasts are generally just a sign of development. Breast cancer is only hereditary in about 10% of cases. Your mother is classed as a primary relative, your grandmother as a secondary relative, normally a hereditary risk is only considered if 2 or more primary relatives develop breast cancer. You don't mention the age at which your mother and grandmother developed breast cancer nor if it was your maternal or paternal grandmother. These factors are also considered in calculating your risk factors. Even though the risk is infinitesimally small, you should get it checked, just to give yourself peace of mind. It is great that you have started checks already!
5 :
Breast cancer in under 25s is almost unheard of, even in those rare cases where there is hereditary breast cancer in the family. And hereditary breast cancer IS rare - only 5 - 10% of all cases are hereditary and due to a rare faulty inherited gene. Because your mother had breast cancer, when you are older you will be watched more carefully - perhaps more frequent mammograms and checks - even if her cancer wasn't due to one of the two faulty genes known to be responsible for hereditary breast cancer (BRCA1 and BRCA2); this will be a precaution in case there are as yet undiscovered inherited genes that can lead to breast cancer. Even if your mother does carry one of the faulty genes, your chances of having inherited it are 50%. And inheriting it wouldn't mean you would definitely get breast cancer. Was your grandmother who had breast cancer your mother's mother or your father's? Unless several members of the same side of a family have had the same cancer, it's unlikely to be hereditary. And cancer that's diagnosed after the age of 50 is less likely to be hereditary. Most breast lumps, even in women over 50, aren't cancerous. The best thing you can do is discuss this with your mother, and decide with her whether you need to visit the doctor. Good luck.
6 :
Hey Kiddo, Dont freak out yet, get someone to take you to a doctor. It is common in young women to have lumps that form in the breast. I had this as well at the same age,and had it removed when I was 15. It was not cancer. It was called Fibroadenoma. Fibroadenoma of the breast is a benign fibroepithelial tumor. Benign means NON-CANCEROUS. My doctor at the time described it as "abnormal tissue" that has hardened. My cousin is 13 years younger than me and had the same thing at your age. Dont get scared...you need to see your doctor. take care
